Any website worth its salt places a great importance on any review that is produced. Some function as buyer’s guides, others a critique on a particular games contribution to the wider medium, but time is a massive factor contributing to the relevance of any given voice. This age old conundrum of time versus potential traffic yield came to a head this week when Sony sent out copies of Gran Turismo 5. Some gamers have cried foul of specific websites’ evaluations leading some to question whether certain outlets play any game in question enough before wielding judgement. The first selection this week gives real examples of those that haven’t given Polyphony Digital’s game its due and poses the question, do professionals get given enough time to do their job effectively?
Saboteur and the Disconnect Between Game Critics and Gamers -
The second selection this week continues the thread of the first and chronicles one gamer’s experience with The Saboteur, a game which was widely criticised when it was released last year. Surprisingly he found his time enjoyable and didn’t notice the plethora of gripes that were reported in a wide range of reviews. Obviously every opinion on is subjective, but this piece from Bitmob does raise some interesting questions.

And finally we have something a little more lighthearted to round off this week’s selections. Gamesradar has collated five questionable reasons why Mark Wahlberg could be an awesome Nathan Drake in Hollywood’s translation of the much loved PS3 exclusive franchise. Every reason is dripping with the sort of tongue-in-cheek sentiment the website has become known for over the years and will definitely inspire a chuckle or two.
