Deep Silver and Piranha Bytes have chosen today to official unveil that they are working on a sequel to 2009′s Risen, for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Titled Risen 2: Dark Waters, the game takes place several years after the end of the original with humanity struggling to survive against an onslaught of raging titans, who have brought the world to a standstill by making the seas too dangerous to traverse.
The announcement coincides with the launch of a teaser website, which shows a protagonist in the shadows emerging from the sea, echoing the first moments of Risen.
The first adventure surprised a lot of PC gamers with its grand setting, fun open-world structure and impressive voice cast including Andy Serkis, so many will be looking towards Dark Waters with great interest.
