This story is a little weird, but stay with us on this one. Pixar are working on a new feature film which centres around the life of an 8-bit character inside a video game.
‘Wreck-it Ralph’ stars bad guy Ralph, a video-game character whose principal role involves smashing buildings and trying to win the affection of his female rival Fix-It Felix.
So why is this important? Well, the fully-fledged cinematic release will include cameos from gaming’s past, including Pac-Man, and Disney have promised plenty more.
The new project from Pixar was confirmed at the recent D23 Expo and is scheduled for release during November next year.
This could very well be gaming’s answer to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, which famously starred a myriad of rival characters from Disney and Warner Bros. and this new film should have the same potential to bring long time game rivals together.
As long as Dizzy gets a cameo appearance we’ll be happy.
