After some pre-launch hiccups, Codemasters has confirmed that has entered open beta today allowing anyone interested to head to the game’s official website and start playing.

F1 Online is a free-to-play browser experience which allows players to not only race against others with fully licensed cars from the world’s premier open-wheel championship, but also establish and evolve their own team before racing their creations against as many as twenty-four other drivers online.

This combination of management and high-octane track racing makes F1 Online a very interesting proposition indeed, and we were shocked just how exciting top-down races can actually be.Part of that excitement is undoubtedly due to the unbridled carnage some races inevitably turn into whenever you head to the first corner, but it’s mostly due to the keyboard and mouse controls which allow players to control these twitchy speed machines with absolute precision.
