Today Bethesda has announced that Splash Damage are preparing a new “comprehensive” update for Brink which will add clan, ladder and tournament support to all versions of the game.
The finer details are on the official Bethesda Blog but the standout features are new functionality linked with a new beta site for clans which will launch in tandem with the new update hitting PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game.
Players will be able to run their own clans, compile detailed activity reports, challenge other clan leaders and accept applications from those who wish to join their fold. It sounds like the kind of functionality other publishers would charge for – we’re looking at you Activision – but Bethesda and Splash Damage will be chucking it in for free.
Brink had a rough launch earlier in the year, but it’s good to know that Splash Damage have faith when it comes to their most recent endeavour’s long-term appeal.
Other details on what this patch will bring will be announced in the coming days, so keep checking back for more updates.
