Magicka Closed Beta Announced

Paradox Interactive and Arrowhead Games have announced a new initiative to get players enrolled in the closed beta for the co-op enthused wizard adventure , but interested gamers will have to work to earn their special invites.

To register your interest wannabe participants have to upload a picture of themselves in proper or makeshift wizard’s attire to the official Magicka fan page on Facebook and two to three weeks later they will receive access to the closed beta.

The competition has only been open for a few hours, but already there’s a plethora of hilarious pictures submitted by entrants online. Handily the website is linked on the right, so be sure to have a look.

For the uninitiated Magicka is the debut title from Arrowhead Games and involves four player co-op in a campaign with all manner of monsters and beasties, as well as a fully dynamic spell system which allows players to combine different elements to create electrical ice shards, steam expelling rock projectiles and many more surprising combinations.

Magicka is scheduled for release during the first quarter of next year, exclusively for PC.
