Overnight iRacing made another declarative statement as the most realistic racing simulation to date, as they’ve managed to attract twenty-two celebrity racing drivers to take part in the inaugural Pro Race of Champions series.
The two races will take place entirely inside the simulation with twenty-two celebrity drivers competing to earn $1,500 for a charity of their choice. Here’s the line-up:
* Joey Logano – NASCAR
* Alex Gurney – GRAND-AM
* Bobby Labonte – NASCAR
* Ron Capps – NHRA
* Justin Wilson – INDYCAR
* Shane van Gisbergen – Aussie V8 Supercars
* Scott Speed – NASCAR / F1
* Stefan Johansson – F1 & CART
* Matt Plumb – GRAND-AM
* Colin Braun – NASCAR
* Joey Hand – ALMS
* Timmy Hill – NASCAR
* Tommy Kendall – IMSA / TV Broadcaster
* Matt Halliday – Aussie V8 / Porsche Supercup
* Trevor Hopwood – GRAND-AM
* Frank Kimmel II – ARCA
* Martin Plowman – INDYCAR
* Barry Waddell – GRAND-AM
* Sebastian Saavedra – INDYCAR
* Josh Wise – NASCAR
* Eric Curran – GRAND-AM
* Brandon Davis – NASCAR
Two different races will take place, the first will be an oval event at Charlotte International Speedway and the second will be at Watkins Glen. Undoubtedly there is a bias towards North American drivers, but we’ll be rooting for loveable Brit Justin Wilson to bring home the gold!
To see how the professional championship racing drivers get on simply head to iRacing’s website on December 14th at 1pm GMT/ 8pm EST, to watch all the action.
