THQ has announced that Homefront, a shooter developed by Kaos Studios which sees USA occupied by a united Korea, has sold over 1 million units worldwide after its first week, with 2.4 million copies shipped to retailers.
"We are very pleased with strong worldwide shipments and sell-through for Homefront, and we continue to fulfill new retail orders for the game across the globe," explained THQ’s CEO, Brian Farrell.
Undoubtedly this news is encouraging for THQ as after the initially mixed reception the game received from critics, it seems their answer to the modern FPS has sold well regardless.
"Homefront is clearly resonating with gamers and we are certainly pleased with our initial sales results."
Homefront is currently available on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
