Atari and Sony have revealed to USA Today that a sequel to 2009′s Ghostbuters: The Video Game is currently in development.
Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime won’t feature any of the beloved cast which lended their voices in the original game, but this sequel will see players once again assume the role of a rookie member of the anti-ghoul squad.
The downloadable adventure will feature an isometric perspective, support for four-player cooperative play both online and off, as well as the opportunity to drive the iconic Ecto-3.
Surprisingly the developer of the original game, Terminal Reality, aren’t working on a sequel but this does indicate the new direction this series is heading with the relatively unknown Wanako taking the helm.
Expect Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime to be released on PC, PSN and Xbox Live next year.
