Remember that Kickstarter project we reported on at an ungodly hour yesterday morning?
Well, it seems as though all is right with the world as Double Fine’s point-and-click revival, which reunites the genre’s most celebrated creative talent Ron Gilbert and Tim Schafer, has far surpassed its original goal of $400,000.
In fact the project is currently at over $1,000,000…
Yeah that’s right, $1,000,000!
All we need now is to get Dave Grossman involved and we could have a Monkey Island revival on our hands. Hell for all those zeros we could probably get three in production.
“The extra money will be put back into the game and documentary. This could result in anything from increased VO and music budgets to additional release platforms for the game,” states an FAQ associated with the funding scheme, so don’t feel as though you wasted your money if you committed early.
Said documentary is being put together by 2 Player Productions and will showcase the blood, sweat, tears and hopefully laughs behind Double Fine’s next adventure.
Needless to say we’re extraordinarily interested to see how this all pans out, after all over 26,655 backers can’t be wrong.
If you fancy pledging yourself, you can find the project’s pagehere.
Only at this point you’re probably donating just to look cool.
