THQ’s core games chief Danny Bilson has revealed more details about Dawn of War III, which is currently in development at Relic Entertainment.
“We’re working on the next-generation of that franchise right now,” Bilson revealed in an exclusive interview with Eurogamer.
“I feel like an ass saying it’s fantastic, but it is. And we’re going to do something with it you haven’t seen before. Preserving some things that have always been great about the first two generations of it, going back to 1 on some things, 2 on some things, and 3 will bring us some new things.”
Earlier this week Bilson also promised a “big announcement at Gamescom” during further discussions with Eurogamer, which would also tally up with a tweet he made way back in February which teased a big announcement for “the next Relic RTS” in August – the same month as Europe’s biggest games show.
Relic Entertainment has become one of the most reliable strategy developers in the world, with several critically acclaimed Warhammer 40K products already under its belt.
We do wonder what the “next generation” elements in Dawn of War III will entail, but it looks like we’re going to have to wait at least another month or so to find out.
The next game to come out of the Vancouver-based studio is Space Marine which will be released this August for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
