Revolution Software has announced that they are currently working on bringing a remastered version of Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror to iPhone and iPad before Christmas, with PC and MAC owners getting the game next year.
"I am delighted that finally we can announce about (sic) our next game, ‘Broken Sword – the Smoking Mirror: Remastered’ which will be available on iPad / iPhone / iPod touch very shortly, and PC / Mac very early next year. It has been a fantastic project to work on, and wonderful to have had the opportunity to improve key elements of the original and add special features," said Revolution MD and Broken Sword creator, Charles Cecil.
"Along with an exclusive new interactive digital comic, from my friend Dave Gibbons, the game now has fully animated facial expressions, enhanced graphics throughout, high quality music as well as a context-sensitive hint system, and diary.
"The game also features Dropbox integration which facilitates a unique cross-platform save-game feature, enabling players to enjoy the same adventure simultaneously on multiple devices, full Game Centre integration – including in-game achievements – and many other enhancements."
Broken Sword 2 is the last adventure in the franchise before the makers went all 3D, so expect the typical point and click gameplay with George Stobbart and Nico Collard investigating the meaning behind a mysterious ancient artefact.
The Mayans are involved, that’s all we’re saying.
