EA’s CFO Eric Brown has told the Baird Technology Conference in San Francisco that eight million copies of Battlefield 3 have been sold on all platforms since launch.
His comments were recorded by GameInformer who also explained that a total of twelve million copies of the game have been shipped to retailers.
These figures aren’t quite as substantial as Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 which is reported to have sold six and a half million copies in the first twenty-hour hours, according to Industry Gamers, but it does prove that Battlefield has captured a significant portion of the military shooter market in 2011.
