Battlefield 3: Back To Karkand has been reduced to just £5.99 on Origin, shaving 50% off the usual asking price.
The offer looks to be a PC-only deal – the expansion pack is still full price on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. The expansion pack usually retails on Origin for £11.99.
Battlefield 3: Back To Karkand adds four classic Battlefield 2 maps to BF3, each reimagined in DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, as well as ten new weapons and four new vehicles, including the awesome hover-capable STOVL fighter jet.
Gamers who picked up a copy of Battlefield 3′s Limited Edition will already have been provided access to the expansion pack free of charge.
Battlefield 3: Back To Karkand first launched on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in December. 360Zine’s review commented that four maps included were “as good as, if not better than, those already on the disc”.
Back To Karkand is expected to be the first of many themed expansion packs for Battlefield 3.
A new ‘All-American’ expansion pack had been expected to be announced last week, thanks to comments made by EA VP of Investor Relations Peter C. Ausnit. The announcement, of course, never happened.
GamerZines has previously heard from various industry sources that Battlefield 3′s second expansion pack would include maps set in New York.
If you want to take up the half-price offer, head over to Origin.
