Formerly Cities Unlimited, this game from Monte Cristo is one of the first attempts at a city building simulation with a persistent worldwide development. Players can play single-player in their own sandbox or play online, where the best cities work together to forge progress together.
The key gameplay is based on players managing cities through the economy, travel structure and caring for the needs of the city inhabitants. Cities XL is heavily influenced by a previous title by Monte Cristo Games called City Life.
