Art and premise unveiled.
Double Fine has finally revealed the name and setting of their much lauded Kickstarter-funded adventure game.
The traditional point-and-click adventure, dubbed ‘Broken Age’, was officially unveiled at a keynote presentation from Double Fine during Boston’s PAX East event. Here’s the official description of the game:
“Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster—but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue.”
Along with this announcement, Double Fine also launched a new website dedicated to Broken Age which features more opportunities purchase the project still in development, official concept art, and access to the backer-only forums.
Double Fine Adventure, now known as Broken Age, attracted $3,336,371 worth of investment via Kickstarter and has since made significantly more via the developer’s own funding efforts on their official website. Needless to say we’re very interested to see what form the final game takes and we’re very excited to find out more.
