2009′s best zombie shooter gets a container full of new content.
Good morning PC master race, are you having fun toiling around in Day Z scrambling around for weapons, before getting inevitably shot by a fellow survivor who just wanted to swipe a can of beans from your backpack? Yeah these 2012 zombie games are a bit more hardcore than they used to be…
Thankfully we can all go back to a more accessible time, when ammo was plentiful, permadeath was alien and when clowns only came in zombie form; of course we’re talking about Left 4 Dead 2. After its release in 2009, Valve promised that they would add all of the campaigns from the first game into the second for free, and after an incredibly long wait they’ve finally done it!
All PC players who boot up Left 4 Dead 2 today will find six new campaigns to greet them:
- Dead Air
- Death Toll
- No Mercy
- Crash Course
- Blood Harvest
- Cold Steam
That last one is entirely new to the series and is based on the community-made campaign 2 Evil Eyes by Matthew Lourdelet.
Unfortunately Valve has been quiet on when these new campaigns will be available for the Xbox 360 version of Left 4 Dead 2, but conversations with Microsoft are ongoing.
If that wasn’t enough of an incentive to jump back into the co-op shooter sequel, Valve are currently offering Left 4 Dead 2 at 75% less than its usual cost via Steam.
Come back with us to 2009 folks, zombie game phenomenons were so much more wholesome back then…
