Part of Crysis' appeal was that it was one of the most technologically advanced PC games that we'd seen in recent years. With Crysis 2 coming to Xbox 360 and PS3, Crytek is obviously aiming its first person shooter toward mass appeal and, of course, the more people that get play it the better.
A spokesperson for Crytek, Carl Jones, has now revealed that Crysis 2 will have lower system requirements, but will still offer better graphics. Maybe Crytek is looking to deliver a more stream-lined game with less focus on the all-singing, all-dancing game engine of its previous game? Crytek, however, still claims that CryENGINE 3 will set the benchmark for complete game engine solutions. The proof will be in the pudding when Crysis 2 is released later this year, but one thing's for sure - Crysis 2 is going to be a different experience from its predecessor for better or for worse.
