Developer diaries are rarely this personal or jammed packed full of information, but this multi-part blog detailing Splash Damage's first attempt at a narrative based shooter is a must read. The game's lead writer Ed Stern discusses why Brink is set in "seagoing eco-city" and why its warring factions are vying for supremacy, needless to say this isn't your average AAA title.

The past seven day's headlines have been dominated by the ongoing spat between Activision and Infinity Ward with both parties now filing legal action against each other. What this means for gaming's most successful FPS is unclear but Scott Steinberg does a great job of predicting what may lay ahead.
