SFS Skyrim Edition

Published on November 27th, 2011

It seems the world has become obsessed with since it launched a few weeks ago. Reddit, Facebook, Twitter; every social network is overflowing with content involving horses, dragons and spectacular shouts, and this week we thought we’d join them with a special Something for Sunday celebrating Bethesda’s spectacular sequel.

Apple Shot

First up we have a short yet nonetheless impressive video showcasing a player’s archery talents by shooting an apple perched on the head of a helpless civilian from an impressive distance away. Like we said, this video is short but we’re only just getting started.

Retro Trailer

Next up we have a fan-made retro trailer put together for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim which not only gets across the epic scale of the RPG affectively, but also boasts a surprisingly dramatic soundtrack. Even the narrator is getting into it!

Skyrim Dragon Barrage!

The longer you spend in the land of Skyrim, the more dragons become a serious pain in the pooper. Just when you’re commuting between one town or another, one of the scaly blighters will show up and ruin what was otherwise a perfectly pleasant journey. Dealing with one is interesting, but what would happen if you spawned fifty into the world at the same time? This fantastic video answers that question perfectly and needless to say things get a bit messy.

100 Ways to Die in Skyrim

We all know Skyrim is a very dangerous place and random deaths can be quite common. This video chronicles a ton of different ways a player’s character can meet his or her demise and some of the scenarios are actually quite comical. We suspect some of them may have involved a few console commands getting imputed and we doubt even the most ardent Skyrim fan will want to watch this video for the full fifteen minute running time, but viewing this should give you a cheap chuckle.

SFS Bonus: Titanic in CryEngine 3 -

Last but not least we have something which has absolutely nothing to do with Skyrim, but it still deserves special recognition. One intrepid modder has recreated the innards of the RMS Titanic in unprecedented detail from the iconic staircase to the passenger quarters and it’s frankly amazing. The amount of detail on show here is staggering and shows just how beautiful the CryEngine 3 can be when in the right hands.

As always if you see anything worthy of a mention in this feature on your internet travels, be sure to send an email to pcgzine@cranberrypublishing.com describing your selection and we’ll give you a shout out to recognise your contribution.
