After their Kickstarter success, Revolution Software promise another point-and-click revival.
Revolution Software has confirmed that Beneath a Steel Sky will get a sequel, despite not meeting the 1 million Kickstarter goal to fund the game.
Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse attracted $771,561 worth of investment, but it needed to crack the 1 million dollar barrier to secure development on Beneath a Steel Sky 2, at least that’s what we thought.
“We’re delighted by the recent level of interest in a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky and are currently discussing design ideas for this project which we plan to go into development following the release of Broken Sword – The Serpent’s Curse,” stated Revolution co-founder Tony Warriner in an interview with Develop.
“We’re deeply touched that our Steel Sky fans are as enthusiastic today as they were when the original game released in 1994.”
Beneath a Steel Sky was first released in 1994 and can still be downloaded for free today by heading to GOG.com. If you’re a fan of old school adventure games we strongly urge you to check it out!
