The quality of the world created is outstanding, but we have a few niggles and already we start wondering about what a sequel might deliver. 1. Never hurt an innocent person. Within half an hour we've broken all three, as our hero Altair flees through the streets of Acre, tailed by some surprisingly agile guards. The innocent person? Just some poor schlub who we barged out of our path. Discretion? Nah. Our mark was assassinated in full view of at least thirty people. Clan compromised? Absolutely. Now everyone knows there's an assassin about, and they're all on their toes. Excellent work, Altair. For a game that purports to herald a new generation of stealth, there's plenty of audience-attracting action in Assassin's Creed. You can spend hours obtaining information about your target, plan an entrance route in meticulous detail, and yet when you've done the dirty deed, you're always chased across rooftops and through busy streets by a set of angry enemies out for your blood.
