Firstly, Fracture is a huge departure from the Star Wars IP that LucasArts usually draws upon, signalling its intention to start creating new IP. Secondly, Fracture's big idea is the ability to re-shape the world around you in game. In Fracture, you can change the walls, even the earth beneath your feet, using your unique arsenal. As you can see from our images this issue, Fracture is shaping up nicely, but we're concerned that the levels in the game don't prove too restrictive. Put simply, this means that everything, from the walls and floors of a single room, to cliffs and mountains in an enormous valley, can be destroyed and manipulated as you blast your way through the game. While Red Faction made a brave attempt at this on the PS2, Fracture looks to re-write the FPS rulebook, creating a fully deformable, and destructible playing area.
