Fallout 3 preview PS3
Fallout 3 preview for PS3
With all the expectation and excitement for Fallout 3, you'd think people would make more RPGs, but hey, what do we know? We sit down with Bethesda VP, Pete Hines, and get the scoop on Fallout 3. Why it's better than Oblivion, why it's an RPG for everyone, and why the ultra-violence shouldn't upset anyone. Also, we make the mistake of saying the graphics look a bit low rent. So he told us why we were wrong. Read the full interview in this month's free PlayStation 3 magazine.

Fallout 3 preview for the PS3
With the final touches
being put to the postapocalyptic
epic Fallout
3, we thought that now would
be the ideal time to grill Bethesda
mouthpiece Pete Hines…
RPGs are traditionally associated
with wizards and goblins. Could Fallout 3 be the RPG for people
who don't like RPGs?
It's a good question. I think Oblivion
actually did a lot of that, even though
it is orcs, goblins and elves. But we
heard from a lot of folks who said ‘I've
never played an RPG in my life. I don't
like RPGs but I really liked Oblivion.' I
think there's probably more to that in Fallout because of the fact that it is
first-person with guns, and it's postapocalyptic.
At the same time it feels
like something else you would have
played; it's a bit more familiar, it feels
less RPG just visually but then it's also
very different because of all of the
choices you get to make and the
way you get to play your character.
