Blur preview PS3

Blur preview PS3

Blur preview for the PS3

Since Bizarre Creations left Microsoft, we've all been waiting to see what would happen, and Activision has finally take the wraps off next-gen racer, Blur. Activision reckons Blur will put the petrol back into the tank of the racing genre which has been running on empty for a bit too long, to stretch a metaphor. With a combination of Mario Kart power-ups, PGR4 visuals, and, er Facebook style social networking, Blur is more than simply a rehash from Bizarre, so it's definitely going to be a game to look out for. get more info in this issue of P3Zine which has the first look preview of Blur, complete with all the details and the new screens.Click here to read our Blur preview for the PS3 now! Blur preview for the PS3 PGR4 plus neon plus Facebook plus Mario Kart equals Blur. An odd combo? Perhaps, but (rather appropriately) it makes a Bizarre kind of sense. The neon is all over the UI – from menus to speedometers to the lights projected on the side of the buildings as you zip by – and it looks great. Facebook? That'll be the social network side of things, which sees fellow racers messaging you, inviting you to races or mocking a poor performance. It's a story mode without a story, keeping things streamlined so you can concentrate on the racing, but involved enough so there's a reason for everything. And Mario Kart? That'll be the power-ups. We're told that underneath it all it's the PGR4 engine, but that Bizarre wants something a little friendlier. It's a game which rewards players rather than punishing them – fast finishes, aggressive driving, using power-ups regularly and impressive drifting will net you new fans to increase your fame.
