FEAR Review - PS3
Should you already own a
PlayStation 3, the chances
are you’ve already picked up
the most popular launch game
Resistance. FEAR may be a firstperson
shooter but it’s a world apart
from the twee English countryside
you wander through in Resistance,
poking rubber aliens in the eye as
you ponder whether they‘re real
or not. In fact, such is the level of
constant tension and utter panic in
FEAR, it makes any other shooter feel
like a water pistol shootout with your
best mates from school.
The story is enticingly vague and
expands in terrifying snippets as you
progress. Without spunking the plot,
all you need to know is this: there’s
a naughty terrorist group that has
broken into a military aerospace
compound and taken hostages.
Then all hell breaks loose and the
terrorists start to implode in a flurry
of blood and guts thanks to a little
girl who looks like she’s just stepped
out of a primary school production
of Little Red Riding Hood.
