Rock Band preview PS3

Rock Band preview PS3

Rock Band preview for PS3

Rock Band is really expensive. It's worth saying it again. Rock Band costs a lot of money. To add insult to injury for PS3 gamers, we have to wait until the Rock Band Xbox 360 exclusivity agreement ends until we can get our hands on it. Even so, we couldn't resist a look at the PlayStation 3 version of Rock Band to see how it is shaping up while we wait (and save up) in order to play it. What do you mean what is it!? Rock Band is only looking to be the single greatest music game of all time. If you can afford it, that is. If you can afford it?
Yep. You see, we're used to being ripped off in this country when it comes to electronics, so this really shouldn't come as any surprise, but the recently announced Rock Band pricing is truly mind-boggling. Whereas in the US, the game costs a paltry $169.99 (around £85 UK), bagging you a copy of the game, a wired guitar, drum kit and microphone; to get the full shebang here, you'll be expected to cough up £169.99. That's a 1:1 dollar:pound conversion, and a mile away from the real life exchange rate. Luckily, retailers are already discounting the "instruments pack" (£99), and game (which for some inexplicable reason, you have to buy separately at £39.99), taking the total price down to a slightly more reasonable £138.99, but it's still nowhere near the amount we should be paying.
