In over 150 years, the 843 acres of Central Park have remained untouched, despite the exponential growth of the city. And while New York's debt approaches an all time high of $4.8 billion, Central Park has remained untouched - despite numerous approaches to build on it, and its phenomenal real estate value of $528 billion. According to Alone in the Dark's developers, Eden Software, that's enough of a reason to be suspicious, and the perfect starting point for a survival horror game. If there's one thing that quickly becomes clear with Alone in the Dark, it's that realism is the key. Just taking a look at the game's official website reveals a whole host of articles making claims about the "Central Park Conspiracy", backed up by numerous real life articles from reputable sources. It's an impressive research feat for any game, but the amount of work that's gone into making the Central Park Conspiracy seem believable is nothing compared to the amount of work that's gone into creating an atmosphere of realism in the game itself.
