This summer, fighting extravaganza Soul Calibur IV will continue the series that brings the best of the arcade fight games to the consoles. Soul Calibur IV looks set to be a powerful and imaginative experience - with fantastic graphics and lots of new locations. There'll be new characters too, including a 'celebrity' combatant (hint, you'll get to use a lightsaber...) Soul Calibur IV will be with us in July - in the meantime we have a first look preview this month.

Soul Calibur IV preview PS3

Faster than Tekken, prettier than DOA and with more chains and whips than a bondage convention, Soul Calibur IV is the latest instalment in the Soul Calibur series; a lineage of fighting games which have seen releases on everything from the Dreamcast to the PS2 and Wii.

What's new this time?
A direct port of the arcade version, you can expect Soul Calibur IV to feature all of the same high powered action of the coin-op, but without the huge expense. One of the most impressive features this time round are the graphics, with your two brawlers doing battle in hugely detailed arenas, with much more background detail than ever before. Expect to see all the old favourites take their place in the line up, including Ivy, Voldo, Mitsurugi, Kilik, Sophia and Lizardman, alongside a few new faces...
