As the "new kid on the block", going up against the sheer power of the WWE, the TNA game appears to be mirroring the company in real life. Is the power of the WWE brand a concern to you?
We think being the "new kid" in the wrestling genre is a blessing in disguise! We won't have the same number of features, or the same number of wrestlers, but instead we choose to target the most important aspect: Gameplay! At the end of the day, professional wrestling is bigger than just the WWE, and we are delivering a game with stunning visuals, tons of wrestling superstars, and exceptional gameplay.

A lot has been said of the grappling system in game, and how it's being likened to WWE No Mercy - could you tell us a bit about how the game's controls work?
We are cer tainly big fans of the old No Mercy videogame on the N64 and used it as an initial blueprint for TNA Impact. We are not using an analogue stick to trigger grapples, so in that respect we are old school, but then the analogue sticks open up an entirely new level of smooth and intuitive manoeuvres, submissions, throws, and power moves. Of course, countering attacks, and reversing grapple moves is paramount to our gameplay and skilled players will use them to their advantage.
