A welcome return to the Command and Conquer universe awaits us this autumn, with the release of Tiberium. Tiberium will draw heavily on the Command and Conquer history and mythology, immersing you in the universe from the start. The big change will be that Tiberium takes the form of a squad-based shooter, rather than the traditional RTS of the earlier games in the series. Tiberium preview PS3

A first person shooter, set in the Command and Conquer universe, Tiberium is the spiritual brother to C&C Renegade, an average FPS that didn't set the world alight in quite the way it was intended.

So, what's new?
The big difference here is that rather than being a straight out FPS with the oh-so-familiar setting of C&C, Tiberium is said to play more like Vegas than Resistance, and is actually a squad based shooter. Running on the Unreal 3 Engine, Tiberium will suck you into the Command and Conquer world like never before. With a variety of destructive weapons on tap, a vast tapestry of C&C mythology to draw from, and a storyline that picks up where C&C 3 left off, we'll be the first to admit we're actually quite looking forward to this.
