The Orange Box review for PS3

From the makers of Hitman... the intro proclaims, as if we needed any reassurance that Kane & Lynch involves guns, death and the kind of bodycount associated with a nuclear disaster in LA. The cinematic continues further, filling you in on Kane, a man stripped of his wife, daughter and put on death row for being a murdering criminal. Kane escapes via the helping hand of partner in crime Lynch, only to be forced into taking on one last job with pill chomping mentalist Lynch as security. If Lynch doesn't make the necessary calls during the game, Kane's wife and daughter are dead. It's the plotline of every major cop movie of the last decade melded together, minus the comedy, plus lots more swear words.

Like EA's forthcoming Army of Two, Kane & Lynch picks up on the double act appeal of Hollywood films but rather than focus on a pair of wisecracking cops, Kane & Lynch play for the other side. You play bright man Kane and Lynch is a sidekick so dim, he'd be better off as the canine sidekick in Turner & Hooch.
