Lord of the Rings Online goes from strength to strength as it approaches its first birthday, with millions of players around the world. And now its set to get even better with the release of Book 12, the latest update to the game. This free expansion brings LOTRO fans a whole host of upgrades and improvements - there are character enhancements, the opportunity to buy your own house and a whole new PvP area to name but a few. Lord of the Rings Online tutorial
With millions of subscribers worldwide, and numerous "Game of the Year" awards to its name, the Lord of the Rings Online was one of the standout titles of 2007. Creating one of the greatest, and most accurate virtual worlds ever imagined, Turbine not only did Tolkien's epics justice, but expanded on his vision too. Now, almost a year after the game launched, we've been treated to the fourth free expansion for LOTRO, Book 12, which brings with it a mighty list of new features.

Placing an emphasis on character customisation (see New Look boxout), Book 12 adds a whole host of upgrades, including a brand new PvP dungeon, the Delving of Fror, updates to a number of classes, and, brilliantly, a Barber's shop, to let you tweak your avatar's hair, beard and moustache. With more free stuff on the horizon, and the recently announced "Mines of Moria" expansion due before the end of the year, there really has never been a better time to check out Middle Earth.
