Due in 2009 is Champions Online, the MMO version of the hugely popular Champions role-playing game. Champions has been around since the Eighties and features lots of different superheroes facing off their various nemeses. Champions Online preview
The Champions role-playing game has been popular since 1981, and experienced superhero MMO developer Cryptic has just acquired the brand from Hero Games. Cryptic has always been a big fan of Champions, Jack Emmert, Cryptic's creative head, explaining, "I love both the rich history and wide array of compelling characters, which made this an obvious choice for Cryptic Studios".

What do we know?
The emphasis in this superhero MMO is on complete customisation of your character, which Cryptic claims is near infinite, with billions of potential options, including user-generated names, back story, costume, powers and abilities.
