Trekkie heaven is on its way late next year - Star Trek Online, an MMO that will bring the Star Trek universe to your PC and allow you to work your way up through the ranks of Starfleet. Picking up the storyline after the events of Star Trek Nemesis, the game will give you the opportunity to explore the known Star Trek universe and beyond to new worlds. The release date is still a way off, but we have a first look at Star Trek Online in this issue of MMOZine - read our preview now for all the latest news and shots of the game.

Star Trek Online preview
Begin as a lowly Starfleet cadet and work your way through training, space exploration and PvP and PvE combat to Captain or even Admiral!

What do we know?
Set soon after the events of the Star Trek Nemesis film in the early 25th Century, STO promises an enormously comprehensive experience split equally between space and new worlds, with locations spanning Starships, planets and Starbases. Once Academy training is over, where you'll choose to specialise in skills such as Science, Engineering and Tactical/Security, visit Starship hubs to meet other players and choose missions aboard smaller Starships. Beyond crew missions, you'll also be able to join massive fleet missions, the equivalent of player guilds.
