Fury review
It's a strange time for online gaming. Multiplayer shooters are investing heavily in persistent online stats, leaderboards, ranks and clans, and MMOs are, well, becoming less massively multiplayer. In fact it's fair to say that Fury, Auran's new PVP ‘MMO' has as much in common with the likes of Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3 as World of Warcraft or any other traditional MMORPG. Auran's thinking is that MMO gamers must be getting tired of the old dragon-slaying PVE-based offering, and instead crave to stick their broadswords into the necks of fellow gamers exclusively. Unfortunately, the lack of any sort of PVE content, while perhaps a refreshing change, isn't compensated by the essentially shallow player versus player shenanigans.

The game world, arguably the most important part of any MMO, barely exists at all. It's a parking space for NPCs, a place to pick up team-mates, wait in line for your next battle to begin and precious little else. In fact, it's little more than a three dimensional representation of a FPS lobby.
