Black Prophecy is the next space MMO we're looking forward to, though it'll be some time after Jumpgate Evolution. Black Prophecy also promises to be different from EVE Online and focus on space combat and spaceship upgrades for gameplay. We're not sure the story really matters – it rarely does when spaceships are involved – but, if you really must know, Black Prophecy is all about two factions of humanity… the bio-enhanced Genides and the techno-loving Tyi, one of which you must join if you want to get anywhere fast in what is shaping up to be – judging by the name alone – quite a dark space opera from the makers of dark sci-fi RPG Neocron. What do we know?
Black Prophecy will be hot on the tail of Jumpgate, with laser beams trying to ultimately bring down NetDevil's imminent space combat MMO. It's interesting that while the respective developers of both games have stressed they will offer very different experiences to that currently provided by EVE Online, on the evidence offered so far, they won't be offering much different from the other.
