Whatever set of skills you have chosen for yourself, crafting can be a huge part of the game; get really into it and you can find yourself spending hours chipping away at rocks, planting seeds, sewing clothes and armour and treating wood, to name but a few. Crafts and professions in The Lord of the Rings Online are comprehensive, but that can come across as complicated. Jewellery, for example, is a multi-step affair and requires a lot of dedication in order to progress beyond the simple copper rings. If you do, though, you'll start to be able to craft from Silver and Gold and create items that are both useful because of their bonuses and worth enough money to justify the time crafting.

The basic ingredients for jewellery are unsurprisingly metals and gemstones. In order to get both of these, you need to mine them using the Prospector "vocation" (aka skill). As a jeweller, you have this automatically, so you need to buy some bronze mining equipment and bronze jewellery crafting tools. You can get the tools from any Jeweller Novice by the crafting tables.
