ArenaNet confirms that pre-purchase players will be able to jump onto servers this Monday.
ArenaNet has announced that all those who pre-purchased Guild Wars 2 will be able to take part in a special beta test this Monday evening.
The coming event is based around stress testing servers, with access starting at 2pm EST (7pm BST) until 9pm EST (2am BST) on Tuesday.
Again we stress that this test is for those who’ve already stumped up the cash to play Guild Wars 2, even though the MMORPG doesn’t have a final release date yet, and players will be able to progress the same characters they’ve already registered or create new ones.

To Make a correction, the stress test is for those who PRE-PURCHASED, not pre-ordered.
That’s a really good point
. I’ve amended the story.
Here’s hoping paying for games before they’ve even got a finalised release date doesn’t become standard practice.
Obviously Guild Wars 2 is still one of the biggest releases on the calendar, but paying full whack without getting an idea of the final quality of the game doesn’t quite sit right with me.
I couldn’t agree more. Here’s hoping they come out with non-pre-purchase beta events.
It’s a brilliant marketing ploy to get people to pay up front for a game that isn’t finished and then “invite” them to test the game for you. All that income into the 2011/2012 financial year is a smart financial move. Some smart people at ArenaNet
Love the game though and can’t wait for the release.
I think you’ve missed the point, BETA isn’t about trying before you buy, that’s what a demo is for or a trial in the case of MMO’s.
BETA Testing is there for the devs to iron out wrinkles in the game as well as get a better understanding on things like network load or class balancing.
I wonder how many other people see it as a try before you buy and never actually feedback on the forums and through bug reporting tools?!
Not knocking you just saying though
