Time to bring our Smuggler out of retirement.

Our love for Bowdaar is purely platonic we swear, especially as that kind of relationship is outlawed in many, many star systems.
BioWare has announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic’s long-awaited transition from subscription-only to free-to-play will commence on November 15th.
As is tradition with these sorts of transformations there will be an in-game shop added, utilising a new currency dubbed ‘Cartel Coins’, and there will be a myriad of restrictions placed on players who aren’t willing to part with any cash, including restricted chat, PvP and space battle access.

As much as the aforementioned restrictions have attracted the anger of existing and potential players of this triple-A MMORPG, we can’t help but think that BioWare are being very charitable when it comes to offering up all the game’s core class story content up for free. It’s been a long time since we took our Smuggler for a spin, but with this transition imminent we suspect we’ll be rolling out with our Wookie companion Bowdaar, very soon…
