Hot on the heels of the Facebook Armory app, Blizzard has now announced a feature that many players have been begging them to add to the game for years.
Bornakk on the US forums posted the below:
"Since the launch of the World of Warcraft Armory, we've been regularly releasing updates and new features designed to help players stay connected to the game even when they're not logged in. Today, we wanted to give you a heads-up about a new service now in development that will let players access the Auction House directly through the Armory website or Armory App for iPhone or iPod touch."
The World of Warcraft Armory has seen a considerable number of updates since its launch, both on the web and on the iPod/iPhone, but it seems what we know of its functionality is not even close.
At the moment this is just an early announcement to let players know what will be available in the future, and with it being "a fairly complex service to develop, due in large part to its unprecedented integration with the game" there's no current release date.
Of course, with all things that seem too good to be true, they usually are and this is no different.

"It's important to note here that certain elements of the service will be premium-based, which we'll go into more detail on once the service functionality is finalized."
Blizzard has slowly been increasing its number of paid services, so it's no surprise to see that they intend to charge for this new feature, but until more details are available it's too early to say quite how good this will be.
So far this has met with the expected mixed reactions of any internet forum with some players excited about the change, and others complaining about the additional cost being a rip-off and fears of how this could cause issues with gold sellers.
Personally, if this is well implemented, I think it is a feature I would consider paying for - especially if it allowed me to post items from my in-game inventory onto the Auction House.
If it only allows you to view the status of your auctions, then I would probably pass, but I think for a premium service it needs to offer a lot more functionality than this.
Once more information is available, you'll be able to read about it right here.
