Since it's 'relaunch' in September where it became a mixed pay/free-to-play MMO, Dungeons and Dragons Online has seen a massive influx of new players and has seen some major improvements in recent months.
Fernando Paiz, the games Executive Producer, posted a new State of the Game address yesterday on the official DDO website, and it looks like they're not slowing down with many new features and updates planned for 2010.
A 'steady stream of new content' is planned for the course of the year, with a commitment to release six content updates approximately one every two months.
One has already been released, and the next adventure pack, named 'Sentinels' is already available for testing on Lamannia, with the full live release scheduled for April.
Sentinels features a storyline involving House Deneith, Searing Heights - 'a new kind of undead and a nefarious band of pirates led by the infamous Captain Tew (usually seen with his beloved pet, Ratty).'
Some of the content packs planned for later in the year will feature a fiendish carnival, and a Wilderness adventure featuring DDOs first area with underwater combat.
In addition to the new content and quests, Turbine are working on a number of new features and items, one of which is the exciting news regarding Guild Housing, which will be provided as rewards for guilds who work together.
Towards the end of the year Turbine also intend to introduce a new playable race to DDO - the Half-Orc.
As well as the new playable race they will also be adding new classes for the hirelings for players to fill out their parties - Favoured Souls and Bards will be the first to be implemented with another one or two later in the year.
The update is not all about new features, however, and promises have been made in regards to fixing current issues and giving the game a bit of a polish as well as extending the game to more players in North America and other regions around the world.
