This weeks Game Developers Conference (GDC) is likely to offer up some tasty bits of gaming news and previews.
Bigpoint, a German developer responsible for 30 free-to-play games, has announced that, along with opening a new office in the US, they are planning to release an MMO based on Battlestar Galactica.
It is now a year or so since the show ended on TV, and Bigpoint are aiming for an August or September release.

Bigpoint haven't released a lot of information at the moment on the upcoming game but said, in their interview with the LA Times, that they have picked a point of the series that fans will be very familiar with to tell new stories.
Space combat, with missions and exploration are promised, but beyond that very little is known.
One interesting thing to note is that Bigpoint is currently focusing on a lot of cross-platform work, with one future game allowing cross-platform multiplayer between PC and iPhone.
Could this be the start of mobile MMOs?
