World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is due for release on the 7th of December, and with the introduction of two new playable races – the worgen and goblins – many players have asked if they will be able to utilise the paid race change service to change their existing characters to the new Alliance and Horde members.
Blizzard has now confirmed that the service will be available immediately for use on Cataclysm launch day, as well as the paid faction change.
One concern voiced about the availability of this feature at launch was the issue of Realm First achievements, associated with levelling a character of a specific race to the maximum level.
These concerns have been put to rest with the confirmation that, although Realm First achievements will exist, there will be none linked to a specific race.
For those who are less than impressed with any goblin and worgen that they create, you have the option to change to another race of your choice, however you must complete the Lost Isles and Gilneas quests first in order to prevent any phasing issues.
