EA has announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic attracted two million players during its recent beta tests, with 725,000 logging onto servers during Thanksgiving weekend.
These numbers are hugely encouraging for EA who are still preparing gamers for a staggered launch, with players being let onto servers in waves to ensure server stability.
The long and short of it is, if you don’t pre-order you won’t get to play when the MMO launches on December 20th.
Perhaps what’s most impressive is that the beta peaked at over 250,000 concurrent users during testing, so BioWare should have all the stress test data they need.
We’ll have more on Star Wars: The Old Republic in the run-up to the MMO’s launch in a couple of weeks.
