Cryptic Studios are opening up Star Trek Online’s new free-to-play framework early to former subscribers.
Anyone who has a lapsed subscription, can log into the game and player as a Silver member, even if they’ve only committed to one month period before.
All previously created characters, with all their experience intact, will be available on boot-up without requiring any unlock tokens or money down. Just simply enter your log-in details via the game’s client and you should be good to go.
“Early access is our way of thanking the many loyal customers who sat in the Captain’s chair during the past two years. Free-to-play opens for the general public in less than two weeks, on 17-01 (January 17th),” read a statement from Star Trek Online’s executive producer, Stephen D’Angelo.
Star Trek Online is the latest premium MMO to jump on the free-to-play bandwagon and we anticipate the sci-fi experience will experience a massive jump in popularity over the coming months.
