gPotato announce that players will be test their upcoming martial arts MMORPG soon.
After a good showing at E3, gPotato.eu has announced that players can now register their interest to be involved in the Age of Wulin closed beta at the MMORPG’s official website.
We’ve been looking forward to Age of Wulin for sometime, thanks to its true implementation of Wuxia culture and sublime Kung-fu combat. Think of it as the closest gaming has come to emulating Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in all its sublime form.
In China, Age of Wulin is currently in open beta and has attracted over 500,000 players and an irrational devotion from some players. So much so that one individual purchased a $16,000 sword in an in-game auction. Excessive? Absolutely, but we suspect the European version of the free-to-play MMO won’t be as cut throat when it comes to pricing of in-game items.
Speaking of numbers, Age of Wulin features over 40,000 NPCs, 27 different regions of historically accurate Imperial China and a ridiculously huge 130 km² of open-world game-space.
Certainly not an MMORPG to be sniffed at when it comes to raw content then. Expect more news of this exciting project in the next issue of MMOZine.
