In a surprising move Codemasters has initiated legal proceedings against NetDevil for failing to get Jumpgate Evolution out in a timely manner.
The announcement was made on Codemasters’ official community forum in order to let players know of the current predicament the project finds itself in.
According to official court documents the British publisher allegedly paid $1.4 million to NetDevil’s parent company Gazillion under the stipulation that the game would be launch by February 24th 2009, a goal which subsequently wasn’t met.
It is unclear why Codemasters has taken so long to file a complaint with the courts, but we’re sure to find out more in the near future as legal proceedings advance.
This news doesn’t bode well for Jumpgate Evolution which is currently in the closed beta stages of development.
