ArenaNet finally commit to a date for the subscription-less sequel.

ArenaNet and NCsoft have announced that Guild Wars 2 will be released worldwide on 28th August.
The announcement follows multiple beta weekends and last night’s stress test which seemingly went very well.
“We’re offering gamers an experience that delivers on the promise of online gaming with a truly social experience in an immense, shared world ,” said Mike O’Brien, president and co-founder of ArenaNet.
“After five years of creation, development, and polish, announcing the launch date of Guild Wars 2 is a huge milestone for us, but the thing we’re most looking forward to is seeing gamers from all over the globe explore this world and begin creating their own stories.”
NCsoft has been accepting pre-orders for Guild Wars 2 for months now, taking full deposits in the process, so this news will no doubt make many early adopters happy.
To further reward this faith, the date of the final beta weekend was also announced and it’ll take place July 20th – 22nd.
