World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is little over a month away, and events are starting to ramp up on live servers right now as the next phase of the pre-Cataclysm event begins.
Elementals are attacking some of the major cities throughout Azeroth, such as Stormwind and Orgrimmar, and it’s up to us players to fend them off and save the trapped citizens. If the attack is successfully stopped, players will gain access to special boss encounters.
Before each invasion, heralds will yell to announce the impending attack, and both players and citizens must grab barricades and sandbags in the hope of slowing down the onslaught of elementals.
Having learned from the backlash of the zombie invasion, Blizzard have provided an escape route for lower levelled players, and portals will be created by city NPCs allowing them to flee before the assault lands on the city.
In order to ‘win’ the event, players must destroy every elemental that has spawned within the city, and rescue any trapped citizens, within an hour.
Reports are coming in from various WoW news sites, and advise that the event is live on both EU and US servers right now, so get yourself online and defend your city!
